David Hunter

David has over 16 years of experience in the mortgage, banking, and investment industry. Before joining as a Partner at Brenance, he served as the National Director of Retail for Builders Capital; one of the largest private construction finance lenders in the country, funding over $3 billion in loan originations annually. As national director and head of the retail division, he managed loan officers and relationship managers in multiple states across the country, providing ground-up construction loans as large as $50 million for the development of single-family and multi-family assets. In 2022, David and his division were responsible for over $1 billion in total loan originations. Previously, he was Vice President of Sales and Loan Originations at Genesis Capital, which at the time was a private lending subsidiary of Goldman Sachs. He was directly responsible for all loan originations. In addition to his professional lending experience, he’s personally invested and managed the development and flipping of over 25 single-family assets, which included the acquisition, design, project management, and dispositions of the properties. Throughout his career, he’s been uber-focused on building sustainable relationships by prioritizing investor interest, balancing the needs of builders, developers, and borrowers, and providing world-class communication, transparency, and results. Originally from London, England. David has been living and working in the United States for almost a decade. He holds dual citizenship with the US and UK. His interests include socializing with friends and family, staying fit, and volunteering. David is a big animal lover and often fosters dogs while they are waiting to be adopted into their forever home.
